"The Good Enough Parenting Program (GEP) is an evidence-informed program that empowers parents to meet their children's "Core Emotional Needs", avoid "Exasperation Interactions", cultivate "Nurturing Interactions", build "Intrinsic Values and Community" as well as "Repair and Reconnect" with teenagers and adult children. The teachings from this program train parents in how to meet children's 4 core emotional needs, which determine the lifelong patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting (known as schemas). Through this programme, parents will:

  • Identify the 10 exasperation interactions, associated with a negative sense of self and childhood behavioural problems
  • Focus equally on the 7 nurturing interactions, associated with a positive sense of self and desired outcomes
  • Gain self-awareness about their own sense of self
  • Be guided in the "Repair and Reconnect" process"

Dr. John Philip Louis and Karen McDonald Louis

There are seven modules in the program, each one lasting from 2-5 sessions and each session will be about 1.5 hours in duration. It is recommended to take each module, however, parents can purchase the book that accompanies the program and join any of the seven modules offered. It is an investment of time, but we are confident you will find it worthwhile.
